Accidentally fell upon a Korean marketplace in Anaheim while looking for a record store. Apparently, all of them are seriously gone, by the way. We tried to get to two different record stores and both were no more. In this market, I found a cosmetic counter that carried this brand that I personally have never heard of called Peripera. Honestly, I chose this based on the cute packaging. I’m kind of an easy sell on cute stuff.
The tint is very watery, and it’s kind of annoying because in my case, it seeped into my mouth and feathered a bit on my upper lip. It tastes icky, but not enough to never wear it again. However, the tint dries quickly and stays on well. It also shows up great, as you can see in the photo above. The lower left is without any product on my lips, and the lower right is with just the stain on.
I like a more bold lip, so I intend to use this stain under some red liner and lipstick for a cherry red lip. I do like how the stain sets and brings a nice, soft red color to my lips. Underneath a balm, it looks like I have naturally rose-colored lips, like so much Snow White.
I found this product for $10. You can get it on eBay from $7-$12.
If you ever need a bold and opaque lipstick in outrageous yet splendidly playful colors, Lime Crime. You will need make-up remover and a few cotton balls to get it off your face, but totally worth the bold look. I would suggest a lip primer underneath it though! Nothing worse than chapped colorful lips. This remarkably sinister Serpentina is perfect for any and all Medusas, Poison Ivys or anyone who wants a sparkly green accent to their holiday outfit. Unfortunately, it’s sold out on the website, but thankfully Amazon has three available (at the time of this draft).
The website also claims to have a lip stain that not only dries to a matte. velvet finish, but is kiss- proof! I would love to test this theory, however the Velvetines collection is not currently available on their site. There is a silver lining; The latest color is set to release on November 29th.
You too can look this dark and sinister on a bright and beautiful day!
What I used: A mineral based foundation in powder format (which is messy and I HATE IT but it has nice coverage and doesn’t ruin my skin). This specific one is L’Oreal’s True Match Naturale gentle mineral make-up. Has some SPF in there too. The blush is a MAC limited color called “Giggle” but if I had to redo this face, I would use their “Coygirl” blush instead as it has less pink and more purple tone. This would compliment the eyeshadows better. The eyeshadows are all in the same palette: Maybelline Eyestudio Limited Edition in “Autumn Dream”. I used the cream color from the crease to browline, the navy color for the lid and the pinkish-purple for the crease. As a base for the eyeshadow, I used one of MAC’s paints in “Untitled”. I applied it with my finger to blend it evenly and it holds the shadows in place like a primer would, but evens out the color of the eyelid skin to make a nice, clean canvas. I used a slim angled brush and MAC’s “Print” shadow to fill in my eyebrows. Black mascara on top and bottom lashes (Covergirl Lash Blast Length). Black eyeliner (MAC) only on the bottom of the eye. And the lip color is “Chic” by Sephora.
Now I’m going to go marry a King and torment his daughter into my own personal slave out of sheer envy. Or go to class, whatever.
